On the BA (Hons) Media and Communications course you’ll engage in research and creative skills in journalism, public relations, content creation and communications. You’ll create content for both online and traditional media in various forms such as newspaper, magazines, websites, social media, radio, podcasts, video and TV. By studying media and communications, you’ll gain expertise in professional software, research methods, writing and workflow techniques, and project management, while looking at the skills needed to keep up with today’s fast-moving media landscape. The University of Hertfordshire has strong industry links and is affiliated to the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), one of Britain's top organisations for PR professionals, giving you valuable placement and networking opportunities. Each year includes three core media classes, including journalism, communications and media content creation. An additional module can be chosen from subjects like film, creative writing, history, psychology or sociology, allowing for the degree to be tailored to individual interests. Time is evenly divided between four classes each year, with assessment carried out almost entirely through coursework.
